If you wonder why you cannot find the Kip/Kipp surname in many online genealogical indexes have a look at the following list of erroneous transcriptions.
Kep, Kop, Kap, Rip, Rep, Rop, Rap
Kepp, Képp, Kiss, Kiff, Kipf, Kipo, Hipp, Hepp, Hiss, Ripp
The latest one is Friss.
These are the ones I have found. There are probably others!
